Ronald McDonald House® Central Alberta
A House is built with walls and beams...
A Home is built with hope and dreams...

Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta is pleased to announce it's building a new House in Red Deer, Alberta. Ronald McDonald House® Central Alberta will be prominently located facing the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and backing on to Gaetz Avenue.
The new House in Red Deer is an independent charity, owned and operated by Southern Alberta Pediatric Hostel Society.
While McDonald's® Canada and their charity, Ronald McDonald House Charities® are long-term, committed partners to Ronald McDonald House® Central Alberta, the House relies on individuals, corporations and foundations in Central Alberta to meet its financial needs.
Approximately 10% of the House's annual operating costs will come from Ronald McDonald House Charities®, donations from McDonald’s Happy Meal Program and coin boxes and the nominal fee families pay to stay at the House. The remaining 90% is raised through fundraising activities and through the contribution of generous donations.
Ronald McDonald House Central Alberta will serve out of town familes of sick children who are being treated at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. The safe, comfortable, and affordable accomodation at the House will be run by compassionate volunteers and staff. The House will offer families a place to share experiences with other families who find themselves in similar situations and provide an opportunity for the family to rest, recover, and relax after a long day at the Hospital. Family members will be able to engage in numerous recreation activities and programs and try to gain some normalcy in what is likely to be the most stressful time in their lives - caring for their sick child.
House Opening early summer 2011
To date the community has been very receptive to the new Ronald McDonald House Central Alberta and we look forward to continuing to work with the community to raise the funds, build the House, and open the doors to a new much-needed facility in Red Deer.
