Referrals

Each stay at Ronald McDonald House requires a referral. This can be made up to 30 days in advance of the expected date of arrival.

A referral does not guarantee admission as the House frequently operates at 100% occupancy. 

Referrals can be obtained from:

• Alberta Children’s Hospital: a referral from the Family and Community Resource Centre is required — ph: 403-955-3272 or toll free 1-877-943-3272.

For same-day or evening referrals, a referral through Admitting will be accepted.

• Foothills NICU: a referral from an NICU Social Worker or Medical Personnel is required.

• Other Calgary hospitals: A referral from a hospital Social Worker or Medical Personnel is required.

Repeat visits:

When a child is returning for continued medical care for the same condition the family may call Ronald McDonald House directly (no referral is needed). Each child, including siblings coming for medical care, require separate referrals.
